Live, Laugh, Love'tro

So, my sweet ham did take some steps a week or so ago then proceeded to get a head cold (the most severe one he's had for sure). This last week he was definitely not his light and happy self, wasn't eating much or drinking much and was not happy about the congestion! He hadn't really wanted to stand on his own or walk at all. We brought him into the ped and got him on some antibiotics and learned of some fluid in his ears.. Probably a big part of his disinterest in being active. Today we went to the dermatologist to check on his spot on his back that we've been thinking is eczema and doc says she's pretty sure it's not! Sooo I'm cutting off every single tag on every article of clothes he owns. Got some ungodly expensive lotion for the spot, hopefully it'll be gone soon! He was eager to stand more all day today an even took several steps to and from chairs and tables in the office. He couldn't be more excited about it! I'm thinking he's feeling a bit better now! Maybe he'll walk at the beach for real! :)

Sooo all weekend last weekend Cyan was standing up like a champ all on his own and on Sunday June 3 he took his first steps to daddy. A few times he took three-five steps!! Yay big boy legs!

Yesterday 053112 was definitely a day to remember embodying many different emotions. Bret had to attend a funeral service for a friend of ours who was involved in a helicopter crash on Monday memorial day 52812. He was young and leaves a wife and two young sons. Sad day.

It was also Chloe's birthday, baby fur is 4 now!

I got to work on a legit set, doing hair for designers on models. SO FUN and I get to do it again on Saturday for project runways fashion show for BR fashion week. Egggciting!

Lastly, we got some new shoes for Cyan.. Ones good for pre-walkers. He just made 14 months and hadn't stood alone yet, not that I was concerned but I was beginning to be concerned ;)
I've had a feeling that his current Kai's were too big for him so we ordered hin some pediped's size 6-12 mo. Small fry! He was sitting in his high chair when I tried them on him.. One sandal and one tennis. I got him out of his chair and stood hint up, expecting to have him buckle to his knees like usual but NOPE he locked his knees and stood there, I was so excited I could barely contain myself!! Bret called to tell me he was on his way from work so I mentioned what had just happened with him standing.. Bret got home and asked Cy to show him how he could stand, and he got right up! Like he had been doing it for months.. And he's really confident and good at it!! Yay my big boy.


Busy day tomorrow. Wheeeee!

Things have been good here. Lovetrolux is finishing up a few jobs and continuing on editing our most recent wedding. Exciting stuff!

Cy has been well, although he did get a taste of a bite at daycare on Friday. Grrrr. What's a girl to do? Toddlers will be toddlers! Apparently there was some animosity over a toy that he was playing with. I actually feel better about the bite than I did about the psycho scratching kid. Dang. We went out for dinner on Friday.. We usually do but have been so busy lately we've skipped the last few weeks. Outback as usual, Bret is addicted to the ahi appetizer! Like father like son I presume.. My child loves raw tuna!

Weather has been nice and warm so we've been taking advantage of some splash time outdoors. He loves the water and splashing around. One more week until 14 months and still no walking. Lately he does seem to be more interested. We bought him a new plastic walker that's significantly lighter in weight than the wooden one we got from Santa! (I love how auto correct just uppercased Santa.. After all, that is his name!) The plastic one is easier for him to turn so he's now scooting all around cutting corners and the like. My poor poor baseboards. ;)

My guess on the late walking status is that I may hold him too much. Oh well! He'll walk eventually.

Catching up. A ton has been going on here.. Lovetrolux is slammed :) and we're stoked! Cy moved up to the toddler class recently and got his face scratched up by an older kid :(

My sil called off her wedding. My hubs and I both got raises. We're attending some birthday parties for other one year olds which has been fun!

Today we took Cyan to the zoo for the first time! Audubon style! Today was the selected day of my sister in laws wedding so we saw it fitting to still all hang out as a family. I teared up at the baboon exhibit.. It's profound to me how some people don't believe evolution exists.. Wow, ignorance.

All in all we had a lovely day. Cy really enjoyed it as well.. I love him so much!
Being a mother is more than I could have ever imagined and all of it is very fulfilling!! Lately my little love has been having some trouble sleeping.. Tonight he started to pull at his ears, hopefully we aren't looking at another ear infection.. He's only had one other but still, those damn infections are the worse.

Oh and mothers day was fabulous! We stayed in our pjs til noon and then road our bikes to the park to play. :)

I got to see one of my most favorite artists today, Florence + the machine at jazz fest. I'm forever a fan.

We've been thoroughly enjoying our beautiful spring weather!! This week is the last week for Cyan in his old class.. He's been hanging out much more with the toddlers and even ate lunch with them today. :) they no longer use high chairs or cribs they sit in chairs with straps at a table and sleep on their own cot. I'm wondering how he'll do.. Today we rode our bikes down to the lake and fed the ducks. Very cool!'. They're fed often so they come up close to you.. Cy sat in his wee ride and soaked it all in! This past weekend we drove to Hammond to a housewarming party for a cousin of. Bret's, it was nice to see everyone!

So we've graduated from the baby rooms and on to the toddlers. Even tho Cyan isn't quite walking yet they had to make room for some newbies in his class. Last week was transition week, he played, ate, and even slept on the toddler side. Ahem. Of course mommy is nervous but Cyan was a real champ and enjoyed his new friends. A lot has been happening lately so we've focused on one day at a time! My darling sister in law has called off her wedding which was to happen in less than a month. Like I said some big changes.. I've been thinking of her tons lately. Things always find a way of working themselves out, somehow, someway.

I'm sad we missed festival international in Lafayette this weekend but I'm really looking forward to jazz fest this thursday.. With 3 of my favorite girls!

Soon Cyan will be moving up to the one year old program.. I'm excited and nervous of course. He isn't walking yet and I know the majority of children in this next class are. I'm sure this will make him more inclined to go for it! He stood on his own today for the first time :) from a squatting position Bret said he lifted himself up to a stance! He's beginning to be a brave boy. I've been trying to exercise a bit more.. I'd like to get back into running and cardio. I know it's what I need to trim down. We have a lot of things coming up, a family wedding, a beach trip (which I am so looking forward to) and three weddings in which we're photographing. Go Lovetrolux!

We ventured out to outback this evening.. Cy loves the bread! It was fair, my dish was fishy which is unusual so I wasn't all that thrilled about that. He's been having trouble sleeping again.. And we now have his first I-tooth which could be why. The left side seems to be almost totally cut. Whew.

We've been playing a ton and really enjoying our time with him! My sweetheart son.
